A long time ago, in an
underwriter's office far, far away...
Competitive public liability brokers, striking from
a hidden office, had won their first victory against
the evil, corporate law offices. Ruled under the
tyrannical Garth Trader, the law firms sought a
means to prevent the good people of the SME world
from protecting their assets from would-be suers.
The law firms, who desired only money and power over
others, continually attempted to thwart the good
deeds of the brokers, who cared only for protecting
others from unfair claims. Thankfully, just as all
seemed lost, the brokers successfully drafted plans
for a new, secret weapon - a policy document that
would strike fear into the hearts of lesser law
firms: the public liability insurance document.
Unbeknownst to the evil law firms, the benign
brokers also had knowledge of a magical force; one
that binds and surrounds the universe with the power
to bring all future claims to an amicable
settlement: The Clause.

The Clause,
which could be used for both good and evil deeds,
was a powerful force indeed. Thankfully, the
friendly brokers only employed the light side of the
Clause in order to bring balance to small to
medium-sized enterprises. But there was one
underwriter who could bend The Clause more so than
any other, and his name was Duke Wry-Chalker.
Wry-Chalker could draft policy documents like no
other in the underwriter's office. Even from a very
early age, his knowledge of The Clause was unlike
any other insurer in the private sector. Seeing
promise in the young underwriter, the evil Garth
Trader attempted to subvert Wry-Chalker by having
him turn against the good brokers. With such
destructive power, Trader would effectively be
unstoppable. In an epic battle of wits and T&Cs (a
battle far too lengthy to fit into mere paragraphs),
Wry-Chalker finally emerged victorious, following a
long and arduous battle with his light labour team
(they worked part-time). The friendly brokers
secured the future protection of businesses, thanks
to the efforts of Wry-Chalker and his knowledge of
The Clause.
With the evil Garth Trader finally subdued, the
dastardly law firms had no option but to surrender
to the public liability insurance brokers.
